Follow The Green Dot was inspired entirely by the need to be sustainable.
Sawmill Sid needs help to continue re-purposing Ontario’s wood. Our company has been sawmilling wood from the City of Toronto’s wood diversion lots since January of this year. We work with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Partners in Project Green.
Here is some of the wood that has been milled from these wood diversion lots that was saved from being sent to landfill.
Sawmill Sid and the team love their work and feel good about doing something so great for the environment and doing good for Ontario’s wood. Because of this we feel me must give back. Here are some of our donations.
Donation of raw lumber and live edge to 12 high schools in Simcoe County. The high school students are making 88 buddy benches for the public schools. The benches are for kids who are lonely, being bullied or need help.
Donation to the Science Center for their forestry display.
Sawmill Sid pays the City of Toronto for the wood. We thought we had a great business going but unfortunately we are not permitted anywhere near the amount of wood then we expected due to this wood being tub ground.
The environment needs a friend in you and your colleagues. By purchasing an item from the green dot program, you are helping to keep Sawmill Sid sustainable. Being apart of the green dot program, means that you care about trees being utilized to their highest and best use.
Thanks for caring as much as we do!
